The Ministry of Interior (Sector Macedonia and Thrace) organises an open event for the presentation of the actions and the results of the project BorPres | Prespa Lake Area border guard station: Preparatory activities for the establishment of the border crossing point between Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia at the Prespa Lake Area, in Athens, at the Royal Olympic Hotel, on Tuesday 5 September 2023, at 10.00 a.m.
The aim of the event is to present the implementation progress and the results of the project up to now with an emphasis on (a) the technical studies for the construction of the facilities of the border crossing point in the Greek side, (b) the Prespes Destination Branding, (c) the plan for the enhancement and the management of tourist flows after the opening of the new border crossing point for the sustainable development of the area and (d) the video for the promotion of the project and Prespa Lake area in both sides of the borders.
At the same time, a special session of the event is dedicated to the promotion of Prespas on the basis of the fourfold Tourism | Culture | Environment | Agricultural Production and Gastronomy, as well as its connection with the regional and national strategy for tourism.
